Easy Shrimp Scampi Recipe

If you love shrimp scampi (and who doesn’t?), look no further than this super-easy recipe. While you cook the pasta, sauté the shrimp with butter and garlic (at least 3 minced cloves), then add wine, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. And try to remember to save some pasta water! It’ll help the whole situation become a bit more saucy. Assuming you buy peeled and deveined shrimp (which you should!) the whole thing comes together in just 20 minutes. ?

spaghetti3 tbsp. 


cloves garlic, minced1 lb. 

medium shrimp, peeled and deveined1 c. 

dry white wine

Juice of 2 lemons, plus zest of 11 tsp. 

crushed red pepper flakes

kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Fresh parsley, for garnish DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water, and return to pot.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, 1 minute, then add shrimp and cook until pink, 3 minutes. Add wine, lemon juice and zest, and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add spaghetti and toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water 1 tablespoon at a time until saucy.
  4. Garnish with parsley before serving.
